5th TOURNAMENT…our last regular season comp!
The fifth tournament of the year is this weekend and will be close to home AND the final field tournament of the 2008 marching band season! There will also be MANY bands in attendance and we need your help! I hope to see a sea of YELLOW AND BLUE in the stands yelling in support of our students. With a good score, the band and color guard will potentially qualify for marching band championships which will be on Saturday December 6th.

FOOTBALL TEAM IN PLAYOFFS =
MORE GAMES FOR BAND and COLOR GUARD
After beating Dominguez high school last Friday in the final game of the 2008 season, the Warren Bears football team earned themselves a first place finish in league play and the honor of a home playoff game. The band will be there in support of the football team and audience. All band and color guard students are expected to attend.

the Jazz I band will perform at the Booster Meeting
@ 7pm in the Warren Band Room.

Please make plans to attend the concert and meeting! Feel free to pick up some dinner or snacks to enjoy in the band room while watching and listening the Jazz I perform for only the 2nd time this semester.

BAND BOOSTER TO HOST SWAP MEET
Saturday November 29th
Warren HS Swap Meet
Starts at 5:30am and ends at 5:00pm

The band boosters have been given the opportunity to host a swap meet. This is a very easy fundraiser and we need help! We need to sign up parents in shifts to work the swap meet to make sure it is successful. Please attend the next booster meeting to sign up. Or email Mr. Niemeyer at dniemeyer@dusd.net

WINTER CONCERT TICKETS ON SALE!
The 2008 Winter concert is fast approaching. Tickets have arrived and are now on sale.

$7 presale
$10 the night of the event.

Tickets must be purchased 48 hours prior to the concert. Presale tickets will not be sold on the day of the concert.

Last Saturday (November 15th) a large group of parents came out AGAIN in support of the band and color guard at our competition in Baldwin Park. There was a large sign that read “ W A R R E N” and many parents screaming and cheering! After the performance the students once again acknowledge how awesome it was to see the parents rallying behind them. Thank you so much if you have come to a show in support of the band and color guard - you make a huge difference! We have 1 (maybe 2) competitions left to go plus two parades. THIS WEEKEND IS HUGE!

We now have official GOLD Polo Shirts and BLUE jackets for purchase made especially for parents. These items can unite our supporters and help you “stick” out to make your support visually known. You can purchase your shirt or jacket at any football game, competition or band event - including booster meetings! Please see Mr. and Mrs. Contreras.

CURRENT FUNDRAISERS!
We are looking in to some more options for fundraisers. If you have any ideas please attend the next booster meeting on Monday November 24th @ 7pm.

$ MONEY $
There are many students who owe money. In fact we have about $12,000 of uncollected money. We need to get this problem solved. You have options.

1. We are starting 2 fundraisers over the course of the next couple weeks. Students who OWE money, must participate.

2. Sponsorship letters. I am creating sponsorship letter that you can send out to family and friends to ask for their help paying off your son/daughters band fees. This works great! Students need to see Mr. Niemeyer for the letter.

3. Use your credit card through paypal (click the above link) to pay off your fees.

4. Make payments. If you are going to make payments. You need to contact Mr. Niemeyer by the end of September and set up a schedule.

5. There are some scholarships available through the band boosters. To get one of these scholarships, you must make an appointment to meet with Mr. Niemeyer. Email him at dniemeyer@dusd.net

***IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT EVERYONE PAYS OFF THEIR FEE'S***
